I found a lovely piece of driftwood on the shore in Kildonan and knew instantly that I would make a cormorant to sit drying its wings on it. It was a difficult and challenging make, with the out stretched wings being very challenging to support while drying. Then burnishing it all without it cracking was a further challenge. It only just fitted in the kiln. I’m really pleased with the result though.
